The group "La dea Roma tra il Tevere e l'Aniene" (goddess Roma between Tiber and Aniene), realized by Giovanni Ceccarini (1818 - 1821) on a design by Giuseppe Valadier. The Aniene is the "other" river of Rome. The two rivers are inspired by the similar ancient Roman statues in Piazza del Campidoglio. Goddess Roma is always represented as Minerva, also known as Minerva-Roma. The fountain has identical structure of the one on the other side of the square, the "Fontana del Nettuno".
